The Grateful Dead put it well: Steal your face right off your head.

…or here’s a better audio version (without video)…
Trump in 2016 called the JCPOA (the Obama-supported 2015 agreement to prevent or at least indefinitely stall Iran’s acquisition of a nuclear weapon): “the worst deal ever.” (GWU archives)
Last week he said: "On the Iran situation I think we're doing very well. I think a deal is going to be made there. That's going to happen…” (Newsweek)
Trouble is, it’s the same deal.
He pulled out of JCPOA in 2018 as president, and will negotiate it back in in 2025, again as president.
Progress, I guess.
Friend of mine said: this time it will be “the best deal ever” instead of “the worst deal ever”.
The Grateful Dead put it well in their song, He’s Gone:
Like I told you, what I said, steal your face right off your head…
Everything Trump’s opponents do (in this case Obama) is bad; everything he does is the best, the likes of which you’ve never seen before. Even when it’s the same bloody thing!
Even when he steals your face right off your head!
Think about it. Steal your face right off your head.
The Dead song is reportedly about Lenny Hart, one of the band member’s fathers who allegedly absconded with band funds, according to a Wikipedia post. I don’t know anything about Lenny Hart, and so do not want to disparage him, but anyone who embezzles money from their kid’s rock band seems to me like Trump Cabinet Secretary material (a joke, of course, sort of).
Excerpts from the article:
“Essentially, the negotiations are shaping into a ‘JCPOA 2’ with some additions that would allow Trump to present it as a victory, while Iran could still keep its right to enrichment,” the senior Iranian official said.
…and…
Former negotiator [Dennis] Ross points out the contradiction: Trump abandoned the JCPOA for being too weak, and as a result, now faces a reality where Tehran stands at the threshold of nuclear weapons capability.
